SL Hobie X-Mas Gift Ideas

With Christmas fast approaching we know many of you will be thinking about Xmas gift ideas... even if only to buy yourself a small gift. We've added a plethora of new and interesting products recently and below we've listed the most popular new additions...

Livewell XL

Pro Angler enthusiasts in particular have been treated with numerous new products, most recent of all being Hobie's new Livewell XL. Compatible with Pro Angler models only, the Livewell XL holds just over 41 litres (the original model holds 26 litres) and features a larger hatch an improved switch and a removable tank partition, which helps protect both fish and internal pumps and drains. These are going to be rather popular among tournament anglers. Link: http://slhobie.com.au/gear/kayak-fishing-accessories/654-hobie-livewell-xl

H-Rail Accessories

In conjunction with both RAM & Railblaza, Hobie have been busy developing new mounting systems that are compatible with the H-Rail system that is featured on all current Pro Angler models. These include mounts that provide 1 or 1.5" mounting RAM balls for rod holders, fish finders, camera mounts, etc, Starport mounts for fitting Railblaza accessories as well as several other mounting plates and assemblies. The H-Rail tackle bin has been especially popular, providing excellent utility for anglers who wish to better organize their gear. Link: http://slhobie.com.au/gear/mounts/h-rail/625-h-rail-tackle-bin

Last but certainly not least is Hobie's new H-Rail rod holder assembly, which is a rocket-launcher style holder that isn't just versatile and suitable for all forms of kayak fishing, it might just be the best rod holder available for kayak fishing period! H-Crate

While we're talking about H-Rail accessories we should also draw attention to Hobie's new H-Crate, which is a rear-well storage system that could be described as a milk-crate on steroids. It includes H-Rail tubing at the top (for mounting optional accessories) and features 4 storage tubes, each with their own retractable leash system. It's not cheap, but for the kayak angler that has almost everything the H-Crate is sure to please. Link: http://slhobie.com.au/gear/kayak-fishing-accessories/525-hobie-h-crate

Adjustable rod holder extensions

Hobie have introduced a new adjustable rod holder that has been designed to be used in the flush moulded rod holders that feature on all Hobie Mirage kayaks. The new version differs from the original in that it is adjustable (to allow adjustment for varying angles) that is more versatile featuring a dual leash system to secure it in position. These make the flush moulded holders much more useful for active fishing (as opposed to just storage) and are suitable for trolling, drifting and bait fishing. Berley Pro Lights

To compliment our range of kayak safety lights we have added Berley Pro light / flag combos, both of which out-perform anything else we've seen. For those kayak anglers who spend a lot of time on the water in low-light conditions these lights will make you visibile to everyone from miles around. Berley Pro Visors

We can't seem to get enough of Berley Pro's new range of Lowrance fish finder visors. Visors help to eliminate sun glare from the obscuring visibility on the screen, as well as offering additional protection for the screen. View the range of BerleyPro visors here

Pre-Rigged Grapnel Anchors

We've made some modifications to our pre-rigged 1.5kg Grapnel anchors, extending the length to 24 metres, adding a chaff guard sheve for the leader, a stainless snap hook for fast attachment and removal as well as a float to allow for quick removal (in the event of a hook up on big fish) for simple retrieval later. SUP carts

We've been selling more and more Hobie's Stand Up Paddleboards lately, so to accomodate the growing needs of our growing customers base we've introduced a couple of SUP carts to our range. Hobie's SUP Cart is designed to haul the SUP on it's side, whereas Sea to Summit's XT SUP Cart hauls the SUP right side up and utilizes a suction cup carry handle.

PET PFDs

For those of you who like taking your pets for a ride on your kayak, Hobie have introduced a new PFD designed specifically for them. Available in 5 sizes, we've got your best friend covered! Link: http://slhobie.com.au/gear/kayak-accessories/pfd/606-hobie-pet-pfd

Coming Soon

Hobie Catch Bag

Hobie have just announced a new catch bag that has been designed to help preserve the condition of fish kept for the table. These are due to arrive within the next few weeks and if the introductory video is anything to go by they look like serious quality. They're not going to be cheap, but they will be damned good. i11s

Hobie have introduced a new inflatable kayak and this one looks really interesting. Due to land within the next few weeks, the i11s incorporates design features from the original inflatable kayaks with their more recently released Sportsman inflatable SUP. On paper (at least) that makes the i11s a hybrid of sorts and we're really looking forward to seeing what tasks we can throw at it! Link: http://slhobie.com.au/hobie/miragedrive-kayaks/624-i11s
