Note: this is not the official Hobie Island rudder pin, which they are unable to supply. These are a custom made pin, 3D printed here in Australia.
Due to the Hobie parts supply disaster of 2025/26 (with no end in sight) we are now stocking a custom made 3D printed version of the Island Rudder Pin that will do the same job.
These Island rudder pins is the longer style (18cm) and are compatible with later model Hobie Adventure and Tandem Islands with dynamic rudder systems (example below). Note: this rudder pin will not fit older style Adventure Islands with the original twist and stow rudder system (see: Hobie Kayak Rudder Pins for replacement pins on earlier AI models)

Note about split rings: In the event that you need to replace a Hobie Island rudder pin while you’re out on the water, trying to install the ring is likely to be tricky. Our advice is to not bother about it until you get back to land. Just replace the pin and make sure the rudder lines are routing through the slot at the top. So long as you can get the replacement pin in place the rudder lines should hold the pin securely enough for the rest of the trip.
