SLH designed Lovig Kayak Covers to fill a gaping hole in the market, aiming for functionality and high quality at an affordable price. While a couple of our covers were specifically designed for certain Hobie kayak models, our Universal Kayak Covers will fit a myriad of sit-on-top kayaks as well. Crafted from durable UV and waterproof 600 denier polyester canvas, these covers offer durability and longevity to ensure your kayak stays protected from the elements, dust and debris, whether it’s stored at home or being transported to and from your next adventure.
Designed with the user in mind, these covers can be fitted to your kayak with ease. Model specific covers fit their intended kayak like a glove and our universal covers offer length and width adjustment in order to achieve a snug fit.
SLH have been selling Lovig Kayak Covers for a few years now and in that time they have become the most popular kayak covers in Australia, although we also ship them worldwide and are rapidly gaining in popularity, especially in Canada, South Korea and the USA.
Universal Kayak Covers
We make Universal Kayak Covers in 2 sizes. There is a smaller model that will fit most sit-on-top kayaks from 9 – 11′ and a medium size that will fit over most hull shapes that range from 12 – 14′ in length. Both covers are shown in the photo above – the smaller one on the left is fitted to a Hobie Revolution 11 and the other is fitted to a Revo 13. The small 9 – 11′ cover was designed using the Passport 10.5 (Hobie’s most popular small pedal kayak) for its template and as such fits it beautifully, with or without the seat installed (example below).
Our medium universal cover will fit most kayaks from 12 – 14′, and was originally modeled on the Hobie Outback. We’re pleased to say that it fits earlier models just as well as it does the newer ones. It fits equally well on Passport 12, Compass, Compass Duo models and also works nicely on the Revo 13 and Pro Angler 12 as well (example images below)
Lovig Pro Angler 14 Deck Cover
Our Pro Angler 14 Deck Cover was the first cover we designed, which we were inspired to do because customers kept asking us for one. At the time there was no cover available that could fit it so we had to step up and get it done ourselves. The very first production run was well received and since then we’ve only had to make slight changes to the design. We have since increased the durability and UV resistance of the fabric, however, as well as improving the fit. These covers offer enough room to be fitted with the chair installed, as well as with a cooler box / bag, livewell or storage crate in the rear well.
Lovig Pro Angler 14 covers are extremely popular among PA14 owners (who use them to keep the deck covered from the elements and prying eyes) and are almost as common at Hobie Bream Fishing events as the Pro Angler 14 kayaks themselves. Given the price of Pro Angler model kayaks, as well as the fact that many users tend to store a lot of gear on deck during storage and transport, it’s a no-brainer to take such a simple measure to keep it all covered up.
Lovig Lynx Deck Cover
Partly due to it’s unique shape and construction, coupled with it’s popularity we felt that the Lynx really needed it’s own custom designed deck cover as well. The Lynx is another high-end kayak model that comes with a high-end ticket price, so it’s a given that owners would be keen to protect their investment. Our customers were quick to start asking about it and we didn’t waste any time responding.
Born by popular demand, our Lynx Kayak Cover is now being used by Lynxsters across the globe. Due to it’s unique shape and construction we felt that the Lynx really needed it’s own custom designed deck cover as well. Apparently our customers agree because these have also been very popular.
Lovig Kayak Cover Usage Tips
When fitting the cover, start by placing the front of the cover over the bow first to establish the correct position and then stretch the rear of the cover over the back of the kayak. Next find the internal compression straps (located internally towards the rear of the cover), attach the quick release buckles (at the back end of the cover) and then pull straps to adjust the length. Then use each of the belly straps to adjust the cover width.
Ensure the cover is fitted snugly. Use all of the compression straps to fasten the cover securely around the kayak to prevent it from coming loose and or catching wind during transport, as well as keeping out dirt and debris during storage.
Clean and Dry Before Covering. Before placing the cover on your kayak and storing away its a good idea to clean and completely dry it off. This prevents mold and mildew growth, which can damage both your kayak and the cover.
Check for Damage Regularly. Inspect your kayak cover for tears, holes or other damage. A small hole or tear can become larger and more problematic is unattended.
By following these tips, you can extend the lifespan of your kayak and ensure it’s always ready for your next adventure. A well-chosen and properly used kayak cover is a small investment that pays off by protecting your valuable equipment from damage and wear.
